Gatekeeper awakens in mere hours

Depending on your perspective, it happens very late tonight or very early tomorrow morning.  4:21am (Eastern) is the time, just before dawn on Wednesday, September 23.

While he's usually not seen in public until October, signs of consciousness and ornery behavior can be detected on his Twitter account.
