West Shore Bank has teamed up with Macabre Manistee County to promote a variety of spooky and family-friendly events this October. With the Manistee branch's donation of $500, the non-profit organization will be able to expand its promotional work with new forms of advertising and other types of outreach.

"We're happy to support Macabre Manistee County and looking forward to the many festive events this October," said Kim Malstrom, Branch Manager. "The Event Map will be especially helpful to the events and businesses on the north side of Manistee, considering the amount of road construction that will be going on," she said. Work at the two rail crossings on US-31 is scheduled to last most of October. The Event Map shows the detour route for through-traffic, and explains that the Ghost Ship and north Manistee businesses will still be accessible during construction.

Among the promoted events throughout the county are Halloween parades, costume contests, craft shows, haunted houses and the annual Ghost Ship. Thousands of event maps are distributed to in-state and out-of-state visitors, showcasing the many activities and guiding them to the event locations. Updated information and new details will be available at MacabreManisteeCounty.org.

Gatekeeper, the official mascot of Macabre Manistee County, will return to visit select events and greet visitors.
